Overview
The Contraption Company LLC ("we", "our") provides services including newsletters, web content, and a public read-only MCP server at philipithomas.com. These terms apply to all users and accounts.
Account terms
Users must maintain account security and bear responsibility for all activity under their credentials. The platform prohibits automated bot accounts and reserves the right to terminate accounts for policy violations. Connecting a compatible AI client to the deliberately public, read-only MCP server is permitted and does not constitute an automated bot account. Automated account creation remains prohibited.
Cancellation
Accounts can be cancelled at any time by unsubscribing from newsletters. You may unsubscribe using the link in any email.
Text messaging
The Contraption Company LLC operates the philipithomas.com SMS and MMS program. Subscribers receive recurring automated new-post notifications for Contraption, Workshop, Postcard, and tidbits. Each new or reactivated subscription also sends one Bell contact-card MMS. A person who texts a question may receive one direct automated reply from Bell, a generative AI assistant. A conversational message does not enroll that number in recurring new-post notifications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

You can also contact mail@philipithomas.com. If you change your mobile number, opt in again from the new number. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Consent is not a condition of purchase. See the Privacy policy.
Service modifications
We may modify or discontinue services at any time.
Public MCP server
The public MCP server permits compatible AI clients to search, list, and fetch published site content without authentication. You may use the endpoint for ordinary interactive research, summaries, answers, and links back to the source, subject to these terms and the technical controls on the service.
This permission does not authorize attempts to bypass rate limits or other controls, access unpublished or private material, interfere with the service, make abusive request volumes, bulk-extract the site into another corpus, train a model on the content, resell the output, or republish full posts without permission. The read-only endpoint may be changed, limited, or withdrawn at any time. The terms and privacy settings of the AI service you connect also apply to its processing of your prompts and tool results.
Content ownership
Users retain all rights to any materials they submit. We claim copyright to site designs and content and prohibit unauthorized reproduction or reuse. Content on this site is provided for informational purposes. You may share links to posts but may not republish full content without permission. Access through the public MCP server grants only the limited permission described above and does not transfer ownership or broader reuse rights.
Liability limitation
We explicitly disclaim liability for indirect, consequential, or special damages from service use or unavailability, regardless of cause.
